Racketlon Canada

The Badminton and Racquet Club of Toronto (B&R) will proudly be hosting its 7th Canadian Racketlon Open, March 8-10, 2013. This international event and rapidly developing sport will attract a number of the top 20 players in the World. The Toronto tournament was the first held in North America and continues to be the largest tournament held outside of Europe. It is one of only four events designated with Super World Tour Status on the 21 city Racketlon World Tour that originated in 2001. The B&R hosted the event from 2004 to 2009, with 120 participants the last few years. We anticipate having over 130 participants this year, with total prize money of just over $6000. The B&R, Racketlon Canada and the International Racketlon Federation invite you to take part in this year’s event.

New this year will be a U21 event for the young promising athletes and a doubles event, which will be held on Friday morning. Our club is conveniently located on the subway line in Uptown Toronto, with several restaurants and other amenities nearby.

Rules and Regulations:
 

Tournament Format

• Order of sports will be table tennis, followed by badminton, squash & tennis
• Matches are on game to 21 points (rally point - don't have to serve to win the point)
• 2 service rule in effect (serve from right side, then left side; regardless of who won the previous point)
• Participants are guaranteed two matches (International players are guaranteed three matches)

Club Rules

• White clothing with less than 10% colour or trim (including warm-up suites)
• Outside food is not permitted in the Club
• Use of mobile phones is not permitted in the Club
• Limited parking available after 5 PM on Friday, and all day Saturday & Sunday
